family history

©2012 Michelle V. Alkerton

[I revised my digital collage as I hadn't quite captured my feeling with the initial result.]
This piece seems to beckon a novel be written to tell the story of a family history and family ghosts that are revealed through Olivia's lace.

The original painting was the watercolour background with lace patterns pictured below. I do tend to wander during the process of imagination. lol

Love the mystery- amazing to see the background where it started!

Thanks Carolyn :). I'm having more difficulty distinguishing the face in the finished piece now. I must be tired, or my imagination was much sharper earlier. lol

I can see more of the face here than the last one- so cool how subtle the layers are!

You're right, this image does look somewhat mysterious and ghost like. I didn't see the first one, but this one is great! I admire that you make your own textures....I might have to explore that more (if only there was more time to play!)

This is one of those pieces that I could happily just keep staring at.
Happy PFF!

@Terrie - thanks :) I prefer that all parts of the creation are mine due to memory issues as I would hate to forget to credit someone else. Plus it keeps my brain working. lol

@brendathour - thanks :).

When I started playing with DG I couldn't believe the infinite possibilities and how magically my art transformed , sometimes without really aiming for it. This is purely ethereal and ghostly....luv the work.
