Another experiment with layers, textures and patterns.

I've now linked this post with the Feb. 24, 2012 Photo Art Friday for option #1 - any piece of photo art you choose. The image was created with my own photographs and textures :).

The layers and textures you've used suggest to me a deep interpretation of the subject's struggle. This is so painterly, Michelle. Beautiful.

love the deep colors. It tells a story when the eyes are not covered but the mouth is. No hands either. Deep, disturbing, beautiful Michelle! I could stare into this for a long time...

is that okay I wrote 'disturbing'? Didn't mean it in a bad way. More like: concerning & intriguing... It makes me need to stay and empathize with the image. Hard to explain.

Yes I'm sick with cold right now.
No I'm not hopped up on Benadryl at all. lol ; )

Thanks so much for your interpretation Monika. You are free to say whatever the piece evokes for you :). The first words that came to mind for me were mysterious and surreal. Then my thoughts were similar to Judy's that it seemed to tell a story of struggle. But also of strength and wisdom in facing adversity. The woman's sightline in the image seems to follow a bright path through the darkness as if she has found something to focus on to get her through.

Hope you feel better soon.

What a wonderful mood you have created with the choices you made in your processing! Although the mood is not a sad or ominous one, I found myself thinking of how Virginia Woolfe ended her life. Thank you so much for sharing your art with Photo Art Friday Michelle.

This is masterful! What an excellent blending of images to achieve a remarkable result! To me the picture feels very contemplative, very introspective. I love that there are so many stories to see - each person will see her/his own.

You did a great job in composing this collage.
I've read all the comments;
you've got some great ones.
There are a lot of emotions invoked by this collage...
very intriguing to try to imagine what the woman is pondering.

Such a moody, melancholy piece.

Wonderful piece, very thought provoking. - I too have read all the comments and had to check out Bonnie's reference to Virginia Woolf (was not aware of her tragic life/death) so now I've also learned something just from viewing your photo. Well done.
