Submission to this week's IA Challenge - "English literature".
Result upon thinking of Edgar Allan Poe's, "The Raven" and my attempt to find some light in the darkness. I've enjoyed sharing in so much creativity this month and thank Leah over at Creative Every Day for hosting AEDM again this year. Thanks also to all the kind people who have been visiting my brain and commenting on my art.

Michelle, this is so Edgar Allan Poe!! i love it. Love the "blurry-ness" around the lights. (is this a photo? photoshop? painting?) i have so much to learn... :-)
Glad we shared the AEDM journey together.
I'll be back. xoxo
Thanks so much Pauline. It's actually a digital photopainting collage which just means a couple digital photos + my digital artistry :).

This is so striking, Michelle! As Pauline said, very Edgar Allan Poe-ish!!

Michelle... Phantom was obsessed with this poem for most of first term this year and presented a wonderful paper on the use of bird imagery... when I called he to have a look she said she wished she had had this image for her presentation... high praise from the toughest critic I know... xx
This is gorgeous. I really love your digital photography.
Thanks Tracey & Phantom. I've always been a fan of Poe :). The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum and The Cask of Amontillado were favourite stories.
Thanks Bleubeard and Elizabeth. The chandelier in this image was taken with my first digital camera, a Sony Mavica that used 3 1/2" disks for memory. lol I literally have thousands of photos to play with and am so grateful for the awesome programs like Photoshop Elements, Corel Photo-Paint and Picnik to perform my digital artistry :).

Sorry to be so late in commenting--I had a craft show this past weekend and just ran behind on everything. Poe is one of my favorites! I like the way you brought his dark narrative into the light! Nevermore!
Thanks Craftymoose. I hope the craft show went great!
